Forecast Rundate:
The CARICOOS Coastal Circulation Model is a beta (experimental) version high-resolution implementation of the Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Model (Chen et al., 2003). The model provides forecasts for 96 hours and is run once per day. The model is forced by tides, atmospheric forcing (CARICOOS WRF) and large-scale currents (obtained from the HYCOM model) in order to provide predictions of coastal circulation in the nearshore waters of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
